Acquisition Marketing Manager

We are looking for an acquisition marketing expert who can not only optimize existing campaigns, but has a history of scaling acquisition programs by finding and testing new sources of traffic. You need to be hands-on, data driven, experienced with guerilla marketing tactics, and able to work well across departments. The position reports to the Director of Acquisition Marketing.

Responsibilities:

Your job will change every day, but your goal will remain the same: finding scalable ways to increase the number of Credit Sesame users, in a cost-effective way. To that end, you should be comfortable running digital campaigns (PPC, display, retargeting, affiliates, lead gen) and being accountable for their success. You’ll also have the opportunity to bring your guerilla marketing experience to the forefront, helping us acquire users in ways we haven’t tried before. You’ll dig into data to understand performance, you’ll prioritize improvements and new opportunities, and you’ll find ways to scale campaigns to generate lots of happy customers. You will work closely with the Product and Engineering teams to ensure that we deliver best-in-class acquisition campaigns, user engagement, and tracking capabilities. You will help develop the acquisition strategy with the goal of growing the channels and optimizing budgets. You will manage programs to meet the ROI objectives and recommend tactics that will increase their efficiency and scale. Other responsibilities include:



  • Define and manage end-to-end integrated marketing programs
  • Find new ways to scale acquisition efforts, with a bias toward guerilla marketing tactics with high yield
  • Understand target market and its needs
  • Manage channel budgets and tactics to meet campaign ROI targets
  • Track and analyze channel results and improve performance based on learnings
  • test and optimize conversion paths
  • Report on successes and challenges of marketing campaigns, analyzing them and optimizing them based on data.
  • Find new ways to scale acquisition efforts
  • Seek new publishers, leveraging your experience picking and choosing new partnerships

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree with an understanding of consumer financial products and services is preferred
  • 3-5 years of online acquisition marketing experience in a consumer-focused company with a demonstrated track record of executing online marketing campaigns
  • An aptitude for both tradition and new digital media (blogs, social networks, mobile apps)
  • Understanding of marketing ROI and how to calculate user profitability based on CPI, CPC, CPM investment
  • Strong analytic skills and proficiency in Excel, with a keen ability to articulate results and learning
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills
  • Deep experience with Google Analytics is preferred
  • Passion for Personal Finance space preferred

Product Manager – Engagement

Credit Sesame is looking for an experienced and passionate Product Manager to join our growing product team and help drive our product forward. The position reports to the Head of Product.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the vision, strategy, and road-map for improving the engagement of our user base
  • Manage communication to our users including email, push notifications, web and mobile
  • Manage user testing and feedback for said product(s)
  • Define use cases, user logic, and personas as needed
  • Work with the design team to create wireframes, prototypes, and high fidelity mocks and work with engineering to develop product
  • Be the voice of the user to Marketing, BD, and Engineering
  • Use web analytics tools to drive product decisions (StrongView, MixPanel, Google Analytics)
  • Strong strategic, analytical and quantitative skills

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of product management and/or lifecycle, engagement management experience preferably with a consumer internet and/or consumer finance product
  • Experience with fast-paced agile processes preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and project management skills
  • Curiosity and passion for consumer finance, particularly credit and debt
  • Outstanding written communication skills

Senior/Lead Java Backend Web Engineer

We are looking for a passionate, highly skilled Lead Java backend web engineer to develop features for our leading online personal finance website.

Our Software Environment:

  • Hosted, web-based application accessed via web browsers and mobile devices/li>
  • Java and JavaScript: J2EE, Spring, Hibernate (JPA2), JQuery
  • Mostly open-source: Ubuntu Linux, MySQL, MongoDb

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and scale new and existing consumer website features
  • Be a true partner in defining the solutions, have and develop business acumen and bring technical perspective in furthering the product and business
  • Estimate engineering effort; plan implementation of optimizing prototypes into production code and lead small execution teams
  • Deliver clear, well-communicated and complete design documents
  • Develop exemplary and thoroughly tested code for the most challenging aspects of the product or product sub-systems
  • Perform quality assurance on all new code from inception through integration, staging and production environments
  • Collaborate effectively with other technology teams and architects to solve complex problems spanning their respective areas
  • Ability to work in a team as well as independently and deliver on aggressive goals
  • Exhibit creativity and resourcefulness at problem solving while collaborating and working effectively with best in class designers, engineers of different technical backgrounds, architects and product managers

Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate should have 7+ years experience in large-scale software development. Have a strong cross-functional technical background, excellent written/oral communication skills, and a willingness and capacity to expand their leadership and technical skills. Ability to interface with multiple diverse stakeholders and an appreciation for working in an Operations environment is required. The candidate should be able to take initiative and work independently; however, collaboration, as part of a uniquely qualified team is required
  • Demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience in building analytics using statistical functions
  • Experience deploying high performance systems to the cloud
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to integrate research and best practices into problem avoidance and continuous improvement
  • Ability to work in an agile test-driven collaborative and iterative programming environment

Product Marketing Manager – Email

Credit Sesame is looking for a seasoned email manager to drive user engagement and associated revenue for its online web service and mobile apps . The marketing manager will be responsible for planning, strategy and implementation of successful email campaigns, including content, creative, testing, reporting and analytics. The ideal candidate has a mix of analytical and quantitative skills, experience with large lists, customer segmentation and targeting, a proven track record of consumer email marketing success and coming up with innovative ways to retain, engage and monetize users.

As our email marketing manager you will have the opportunity to take our email communication to the next level.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop email marketing strategies, audience segmentation, design and test plans and implement email marketing campaigns to increase engagement and grow revenue
  • Work cross functionally with the product, design and content teams to create varying messaging and email deployment strategies for aging vs. new customers
  • Monitor, analyze and report on email performance vs. goals to the executive team
  • Identify, test and implement new opportunities to improve conversion and customer satisfaction via email communications
  • Coordinate with internal/external teams to develop campaigns, briefs, effective designs and landing experiences for email initiatives
  • Maintain email best practices including browser/client compatibility, appearance of subject lines, use of images
  • Monitor and minimize unsubscribe/bounce/complaint rates and ensure spam regulation compliance (e.g. CAN-SPAM)
  • Analyze email marketing key performance indicators (KPIs) to continuously optimize email programs, including key components of each campaign, such as lists, offers, messaging, creative, deliverability, open rates, click through rates, conversion
  • Conduct A/B and multivariate testing to continuously improve email strategy and drive higher returns
  • Own management and administration of email platform, SendGrid

Qualifications:

  • 3-6 years of proven and successful consumer email marketing experience
  • A bachelors degree in marketing, advertising, communication studies or a related major
  • Exceptional work ethic, ability to perform under pressure, meet deadlines, and prioritize
  • Strong strategic, analytical and quantitative skills
  • Outstanding written communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of HTML preferred
  • Prior experience with financial technology industry is a plus
  • Experience with segmentation and targeting
  • Experience with database management and list creation
  • Must be a detail-oriented team player with strong organization skills and ability to work independently
  • Experience with web analytics systems (e.g., Google Analytics, Mixpanel, SendGrid)
  • Ability to articulate and champion email marketing best practices and standards
