I use this card for almost every daily purchase as using one card helps me easily identify where my expenses are month over month. The rewards program *appears* better than it is due to the rolling quarter bonus periods. While the 1% back on all purchases is nice - the 5% categories are often for things that I do not purchase so it does not help. For instance one quarter was only on items bought on Amazon.com. There are a lot of reward options but the best is applying it (min $20) as a statement credit. It has a very, very, verylow minimum payment so be careful - if you don't pay it off each month debt will quickly accumulate.
Chase fraud department is always looking out for anything out of the ordinary and they connect with your mobile phone to send fraud alerts to ensure a purchase is actually yours.
I got the freedom after going onto chase and seeing if I was pre approved. it said yes so I went for it. Gave me $3,500.
I got the $100 bonus with it. It is awesome because I got a 700$ cash advance which I put towards buying a used car and I don't have to pay any apr until 2016.
Same with my slate card.
Also having to chase cards- you can transfer money between them. I recently had them transfer $500 for my slate to make my freedom card $4k
Customer service has been fast and excellent (on the phone) I had a issue through the drive through and they kept me waiting forever. I also applied over the computer late Jan 15 for freedom and early march 15 for slate. Was pre approved both online. Slate gave me $3,200.
I would recommend this card.
(I also have capital one, cabelas, store cards ect- this is my best card)
