Frontier credit card pros
If you are looking for a card that offers a 0% introductory APR on balance transfers and you plan to pay off the balance each billing cycle in addition to eliminating the transferred balance within 15 billing cycles, this card is an option you may want to consider.
As we already mentioned, there is a 0% introductory APR for the first fifteen billing cycles following each balance transfer that posts to your account within 45 days of account opening. After that (and for balance transfers that do not post within 45 days of account opening), a variable APR will apply, 18.24%, 22.24% or 27.24%, based on your creditworthiness. This card has a generous bonus offer for qualifying new cardmembers when certain conditions are met, in addition to the regular rewards program. Depending on how frequently you fly with Frontier Airlines, those extra miles could significantly reduce your overall cost of travel. Be sure to keep miles from expiring by making at least one purchase every 6 months.
Here are a few other perks and benefits. Spend to Elite Status by earning 1 Qualifying Mile with every $1 spent on purchases. Utilize Family Pooling to share miles, which could make mileage redemption more in reach. Earn a $100 Flight Voucher after every account anniversary with eligible purchases. Terms and conditions apply.
Frontier credit card cons
For infrequent travelers, it’s important to pay attention to how often you use the card. If you don’t earn or redeem miles at least once every six months, your accumulated miles will disappear.
There’s a hefty cash advance fee of either $10 or 5% of the amount of each cash advance, whichever is greater. The APR is high, even for those with good credit.
Should you get this card?
If you fly frequently with Frontier Airlines, this card may be worth a close look. If you decide to spring for the $79 annual fee and are eligible to get the 40,000 bonus miles, be sure you can spend $500 on the card on purchases within the first 90 days. Also, consider how much you plan to spend on the card and whether the miles earned and other benefits outweigh the cost of the annual fee.
Avoid carrying a balance on the card to get the most value out of the rewards programs.
